This apprenticeship is for people who want to gain an academic qualification in formwork, while
gaining professional experience.
Formwork carpenters shape wood, metal and other materials, which become moulds into
which concrete or similar materials are poured to form a structure. This could be used to create
anything from constructing foundations to a staircase or bridge. You’ll learn all the basic skills
and knowledge you need to work in the construction industry and achieve a diploma in
formwork carpentry.
The academic course will be over a two years period into day release (1 day / week). This course
will be held at The Skills Centre Stratford. The company will cover all costs of transport to and
from college, and college fees.
In between this formal training you will be mentored on one of our sites by an experienced
carpenter.

No formal requirements, but it’s useful to have GCSE grades A*-C in English, Maths and
