About the role

Understand the requirements of the project at hand and produce accurate cost estimates for groundworks, RC Frames, including drainage, hard landscape, and other civil engineering elements in conjunction with a senior estimator moderating the process

Responsibilities

  • Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to compile detailed cost
    estimates.
  • Build up rates using estimating software by capturing / using up to date material
    prices, labour rates
  • Visiting sites when required.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and perform detailed take-offs from project
    documents on time as stipulated
  • Review documents and consult experts to collect all necessary data
  • Analyse risks to discuss with senior team at tender discussions
  • Work alongside senior management to ensure seamless transition from estimation
    to project execution
  • Prepare tender submissions and submit to senior management to adjudicate
  • Gather quotes for bid and supporting documentation
  • Ensure that all related documentation (Bill, quotations, program) is available in JPD
  • Estimating folders
  • Attend meetings with senior management to discuss project risks and challenges of
    the project
  • Treat all bids as confidential and tender exclusively for JP Dunn Construction
  • Report directly to the Senior Estimator

Candidate requirements

  • Proficiency with excel spreadsheets and estimating software such as CANDY/Causeway
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Works well within a team environment
  • Takes direction and is task focused
