The Company is actively committed to the reduction of waste, carbon emissions and improved energy efficiency. To this end the following measures have been implemented:

• All materials are obtained from renewable sources, where possible, including timber.  
• Recycled materials are used, in particular as site filling materials, in addition to the use of slag as a cement replacement.
• Waste is segregated and recycled, minimising landfill. Examples of this include reuse of as-dug ballast, broken out concrete and tarmac and made ground that can be washed to create useful filling material.
• Packaging is kept to a minimum.
• Materials are ordered in bulk from the manufacturers rather than in small loads via a distributor
• The company’s vehicle fleet consists of modern, well maintained vehicles. Ensuring optimum fuel efficiency, reduced running costs and lowered carbon emissions.
• Plant is not left running unnecessarily
